Things are changing and in a GOOD way! The City of Wallis is tentatively planning to break ground on the Mynarik Park Community Pool on Monday, February 12th, weather permitting. Look for other amenities to pop up at Mynarik Park as the City continues to work on making this space a welcoming place for our community to enjoy. Make a note for your next special event that Mynarik Park and the Community Center Room at the City Complex are available for rent.
The Wallis Chamber will be host a Ribbon Cutting to celebrate the GRAND OPENING of Elan #3 (previously the Meat Market) located off SH36. Elan #3 will have some celebratory freebies for everyone joining the party and also unveil some special offers to ease your pocket pains for filling your tank, whether it’s your stomach or your gas tank for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Look for Flyers, signage and Chamber Website postings on exact date and time.
The Wallis Chamber will use this opportunity with ELAN #3 to create our first ‘QUIK CLIP’, which will be a short video profiling our Business Members and posted onto our Website for promotional purposes. I’m pretty nervous about this first round, but we have got to start somewhere and our Wallis Chamber ‘Social Media Producer’ Greg Stuessel keeps assuring me, it’s not that hard. Once that’s under our belt, we’ll start scheduling to produce QUIK CLIPS for all of our Wallis Chamber Business and Community Members. It will be fun with different Chamber Members interviewers, while documenting our Business and Community Members stories.
Mark your calendar for the little ones to participate in the 2018 WEE Hunt (Wallis Easter Egg Hunt) scheduled for Palm Sunday, March 25th. The plan is to hold the event at the Brazos High School Cougar Football Stadium, same as last year. WEE Hunt Flyers with details will be available soon. Even if you don’t have kiddos that age anymore, it’s very entertaining to watch awhile or better yet, assist us with the WEE Hunt, volunteers are always welcome!
