CHAMBER CHAT – December 2017 B. Halfin 12/11/17
Despite our crazy Texas weather from t-shirts to sweaters, sunshine or snow, there’s no stopping Christmas and we’re excited to celebrate the Holiday Season with our family, friends and neighbors.
The Wallis Chamber of Commerce’s 2017 Christmas Parade ‘A Story Book Christmas’ is a go for Saturday December 16, 2017, 6pm. Parade Entry is FREE with line-up beginning at 5:30pm on S. 9th Street, but you do need to fill out a Parade Entry Form to participate. The Parade Judges, Sherriff Jack W. Brandes, Jason Johnson and Harvey Stuessel, will be setting up in front of Peanuts and will be selecting the ‘Best Theme’ and ‘Best Lights’ from the Parade Entries.
The celebration continues after the Parade at the Wallis American Legion Hall Post 200, where SANTA will be ready to listen to Christmas wishes. The Brazos Jazz Band will be playing some tunes and Brazos Project Graduation will be flipping Burgers for all to enjoy while taking a chance for a sweet treat at the Brazos Band Boosters Cake Walk. Don’t forget to purchase your ‘Christmas Spree’ Raffle Tickets for a chance to win $1000, $500 or $250, sponsor by the Wallis Chamber. Contact Bernadette at (281) 239-5203 for Parade Entry or for any of the Chamber Christmas celebration information.
Remember to leave your Christmas lights on Friday night from 6-9 pm for the Decoration Judges, Tammy Hall – Sealy Chamber of Commerce, Chris Chiles – visitor to Wallis and Team Bockel – City of Wallis Mayor Steve & wife Tracie Bockel. One Residential Winner will be chosen this year and will be recognized with a 1st Place sign in their yard and $50 cash!
There’s still time to donate to the Wallis Police Dept.’s Kids, Cops and Christmas program that makes some local families Christmas wishes come true! Contact Wallis PD at (979) 478-7111, drop by Wallis City Hall Complex or go into FNB-Wallis Branch with your donations.
