The spirit of compassion and transformation is coming alive at the Wallis American Legion Hall Post 200 on January 27, 2024. Join us for a heartwarming Food Fair sponsored by Family Hope, a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the community of northern Fort Bend County. Get ready for a morning of delicious food, community bonding, and the chance to make a positive impact in the lives of those who need it most.

About Family Hope:

In 2014, a group of pastors and community leaders came together to address the needs of families in the Fulshear-Simonton areas. Out of their compassion and commitment to transformation, Family Hope was born. Today, Family Hope stands as the largest non-profit agency exclusively serving northern Fort Bend County’s residents with essential services such as medical assistance, food, rent and utility assistance, job searches, furniture, and disaster relief.

Mission and Values:

  • Mission: “Transforming hurting people into healthy families through the hope of God.”
  • Values:
    • HOPE not hopeless: Through the power of Christ, they offer hope.
    • UNIFIED not separate: They believe in the strength of community.
    • WHOLE not broken: God’s desire is to make the broken and hurting whole.

How Family Hope Serves:

Family Hope follows a strategic approach to serve the community:

  • ASSIST: They provide help with food in moments of crisis, which is the focus of this Food Fair.
  • EQUIP: They offer resources and support to help people identify, leverage, and develop community assets to improve their lives.
  • SERVE: They provide a place for neighbors to connect with resources and organizations to positively impact the community.

Who Benefits from Family Hope:

  • A single mom receives additional food support to supplement her income.
  • A job seeker brings their resume to the Food Fair to find employment opportunities.
  • Parents have the option to attend classes to enhance their parenting skills.
  • Families affected by disasters like Hurricane Harvey receive vital financial assistance.
  • Families in need of furniture are provided with essentials like sofas and beds.

Volunteer Opportunities:

Family Hope is always in search of volunteers who share their vision of compassion and transformation. Individuals aged 16 and above are welcome to volunteer at events, while younger children must be accompanied by an adult. Organizations are also encouraged to select an event and volunteer as a team.

If you are part of an organization and want to bring your volunteers on a specific month, please contact info@FamilyHopeFulshear.org. Your serving hearts are appreciated and welcomed!
